Tracy Emin

Like former boyfriend, musician & artist Billy Childish, Emin draws on childhood difficulties and sexual abuse – and repeatedly expresses distrust and disgust at both the modern world and ‘traditional’ art. In many ways, her work is an ongoing EMO (emotional hardcore) song, an autobiographical cry for the love and comfort we all need but which may never overcome the childhood loss.
